This is an example of fused glass that is tacked. Tacked, means it is basically fired on a lower heat to glue the pieces together. The glass will not melt in, it sits up defining the edges and shape more. It has a more rustic earthy feeling, to me, than full fused. I like both processes. Here you see I am experimenting with shape. Glass prefers to be more rectangular and even...to get it to behave differently is a bit of a struggle and experimentation. I like the way this piece turned out. It's new home is in South Carolina around the neck of sociology professor. Let me know if you see it. I love to see my pieces travel well!
