MiAMI SOUTH BEACH

Attitude/South Beach

South beach has its own personality that speaks of old Miami, beaches, tourists, tropical breezes and art deco. It is a vibrant active part of a great city that is lively and multi-cultural. There are many wonderful hotels and buildings left that represent an earlier time along the beaches of South Florida. Florida has always been a boom or bust state, a tourist state, and a state that is a gateway for immigrants for the islands and South America. It helps (almost essential) to speak Spanish in Miami. There is a lively wonderful Spanish and Cuban influence. Music and food and people move to a lively beat, all while the palms sway in a tropical breeze. Art is alive in Miami, museums and galleries abound.
South Beach has wonderful galleys and artist co-ops. The art scene is alive and well. Miami also host international artist showcase venues for collectors and designers. Public art is throughout out the city and on buildings.
Many of the art deco hotels are still open and receiving guest. It is like staying in a old movie set and quite wonderful. When I was teaching we had many wonderful art education conferences there. Many studios were open to us and special museum tours. If you want a wonderful trip filled with art and culture, think of South Beach, Miami, Florida!
