Positive Impacts:The Arts

Recently when I attended the Cool Arts show I ran in to some artists and art teachers I have known though out the years.  These are people who dedicate themselves to the arts in one way or another.  Candace Rapoli is a teacher of the arts and artist.  She is an excellent teacher and loves figurative drawing and painting.

Barbara Hubbard is an artist and professor of the arts and education.  She is a strong advocate for the arts on all levels.   Susan Rollins Gerhing is a career artist and wonderful landscape painter. Carolina Cleere has worked with newspapers doing art and design and is now a full time career artist.  All of these people are wonderful positive people who give to others, whether it be there students or the community at large or both.  You can see if there faces the warmth and sensitivity of people channeling good things for this world.  The arts do that, they bring out the best in all who are involved in them.  I admire and honor these people.  As we all know the arts are not the easiest of professions, it can be very difficult to make a living, but supplies, carry two jobs, and get your work shown.  There also can be a lot of criticism that comes your way and thank goodness praise also, it is the nature of sharing your work with the public.  It is a sharing of yourself and you ideas and your feelings, it can be so personal at times.  But, it is in the sharing and the showing we touch others with  beauty, emotion, ideas, and empathy.  So get our there and share your work if you are not, reach out to others, make a difference in this world!
