The Grove Park Inn, Asheville North Carolina

The Grove Park Inn celebrated it's 100th Anniversary this week.  It is an amazing resort that has stood the test of time.  It is the vein of old historic lodges in America.  The view from the Sunset Restaurant on the rear porch is stunning at anytime of day but especially sunset.  Kings, Queens, tycoons, oil barons and foreign royalty have all stayed here, as well as, most all US presidents.  Most recently President Obama and his family vacationed here.  It is said he would like Asheville to be one of his post president reitirement areas.  Sitting out looking at these ancient mountains and the ever changing light and clouds make it easy to understand why anyone could want to live here.  Asheville has become my second home.  The ambiance of the artist community makes it a natural place for me to feel comfortable around like minds.
