David Naifeh and Gregory White Smith struggled ten years to bring this definitive book on the Life of Van Gogh to light. I have now discovered a website that they did that covers their bio's, companion notes in writing the book and more. It looks like a wonderful site with much information to peruse. These two men and partners in life started out as Harvard educated lawyers and turned to a life of writing books together. They live in a small town in South Carolina and participate fully their community. I think sometimes we think people have to live in New York City, L.A., Paris or some big cultural center to write or create art, but the truth is where ever you are you can create and share with the world. So what ever town or village you live in around this world, if you have something to say, to contribute or create do not be intimidated by larger monied worlds....one person or two, as in the case, can make a difference in our lives by being determined and persistent in their pursuit of an idea. Now we are all richer because they did!
