Paper Making like a Fine Art,
like you have never seen it before!
Well I was fascinated also when I saw this on Hiromi.http://store.hiromipaper.com(click) They have many gorgeous papers of all kinds, but I had never seen any thing like this before. And I was blown away! My niece, Susan, love art and gardening. She has a background in biology and science and a killer garden. She and my Nephew Aaron, also have a blog about sustainable gardens in suburban environs. It is called biTyrant Farms But, back to all of us and what we want to know as artists and dabblers: HOW TO!!!? And quess what it is not so hard or so they say!
1. Cut your fruit or veggies into 1/4, 1/8 or 1/2" sections
2. Parboil boil a little under 5 minutes
3. Lay out on a smooth cotton cloth overlapping a bit as you go(that is what holds them together).
4. Lay another smooth dry cloth on top, as if making a sandwich
5. Lay on a sheet or so of newspaper
6. repeat the process until done
7. Put in a screw press and begin slowly to tighten the screws.
8. If newspaper gets damp, replace or mold will grow
9. Tighten more until moisture stops
10. Carefully remove when dry
If this doesn't work go to Howto.com
i have yet to try it either, so lets have fun! Let me know if this works for you!
