a expose on gay influence in the history of art
This video is an excellent and eye opening discussion of what one might call the "elephant in the room", referring to gay influences in art history. Art historians and curators for years have avoided talking about what is so obvious in the works of known artist that were gay and many that were not known as gay, but closeted. When one looks at the work with fresh eyes, it is just like, wow...how did I not see this! Grant Wood, the midwest artist, and Thomas Eakins who painted wholesome scenes...with a second look, it is quite amazing. This video is well worth your time.
